Oval cabinets of plate glass held an array of cut glass that sparkled like diamonds. The women of Bentley Ave were celebrated not only for their possession of these exquisite treasures but also for their roles as society women, known for their domestic graces and meticulous housekeeping. Sparkling crystal, likely polished by someone else, was the ultimate symbol of these esteemed qualities.
Intriguingly, Bentley Ave is also known as part of Doctor’s Row, an ironic nod to the medical or academic excellence of its residents, adding another layer to the story of American Brilliance.
